New Home Update

Here is a new pic from yesterday. Our house is really coming along. They have run electrical, gas, central vacuum, cable, and telephone. They’ve also hung the drywall and doors—as well as the siding. We hope they will get the trim finished soon!

Hi all, this corporate earnings season is almost behind us, but it won’t be long before another starts up again, and the quarterly obsession with earnings reports begins anew.

But for now, the weather’s beautiful. Made some great headway on various projects (Ahadada’s Kojiki being the one on which the most ground was gained. This week we are going to provide some excerpts and illustrations from the project over on the Ahadada Blog.

Katie and I had a chance to get down and see our house this weekend — they’ve started to lay brick on the exterior. Here’s a shot:

Our new home is being built! Katie and I enjoy driving over to it at least once a week, thinking about what the future rooms will look like, how we’ll we arrange our furniture, what we’ll need to buy and when. Looks like we’ll close in early September.

I’m really looking forward to it, but the wait for a new home can seem interminable, though you can check on it as it’s being built. As ours will be among the first house in a new (alberit tiny) subdivision, we’re prepared to navigate through construction teams and precariously misplaced nails for a long time.

Really looking forward to that daytime hammer serenade, as well.
