The studio cites Futurama’s “blockbuster” performance on DVD and in reruns on Comedy Central as the reason for its rebirth. Alright Fox, we’re even — I’ll forgive you for ‘Fox News’. Aw, who am I kidding? No we’re not. Fox has filled me with hope. Plus some other emotions which are weird and deeply confusing.

From the Washington Post’s Ellen Goodman comes this gem:

Normal is getting dressed in clothes that you buy for work and driving through traffic in a car that you are still paying for – in order to get to the job you need to pay for the clothes and the car, and the house you leave vacant all day so you can afford to live in it.

Anyway — check her out she’s a Pulitzer prize–winning columnist, author, speaker, and commentator who refuses to call herself a pundit. Offers some good insight.

A joke, but with a hint of truth. People around the world are hoping a new president in the White House will bring positive change to US foreign policy — and more trust Sen. Barack Obama rather than Sen. John McCain to “do the right thing” in world affairs, according to this international survey of 24 countries by the Pew Research Center.

Foreign audiences perceive Senator Obama as giving them what they want — a change in US policy. Those people around the world who support Senator Obama believe his promise of change — and want him to make good on it.

Of teen pregnancy—as evidenced above—she has said, it “drops off significantly after age 25.”

Of women publicly displaying guns, she has said, “it just isn’t fashionable.”

Her latest freakout has been over the injustice of daylight savings time. She thinks it should be lighter all year in Colorado. So she’s calling for a voter referendum on whether to keep the state on standard time year-round.

Now that it has become clear that a trillion dollars in mortgage loans will not be repaid, Fannie Mae is under pressure not to buy risky loans and investors do not want mortgage-backed bonds.

In short, middle-call homebuyers in the US are hurting; hence, the image above…

Apparently, a study in the UK found that one in ten people actually managed to hurt themselves by walking into a post while peering down at their mobile phone screen. The mishaps are dubbed “walking and texting” injuries. Courtesy of Yahoo News:

Padded lampposts are being trialled in a London street to protect inattentive pedestrians. A pilot scheme has been launched in Brick Lane after it was found to have the highest number of ‘walking and texting’ injuries in the country. A study carried out by 118 118 found one in ten people has hurt themselves while focused on their mobile phone screen. The charity Living Streets is so concerned that it has teamed up with the directory enquiries service to test a scheme to wrap up the nation’s lampposts. A poll will be carried out on Brick Lane to gauge the response of locals. If successful, the concept will be rolled out in Birmingham, Manchester, and Liverpool.

Couldn’t the city just mandate that all texters/walkers wear a helmet? Living Streets must be a little PR hungry right now, thinking they could get into the tabloids pretty quickly with this great idea.Click here to read the original story.
