I was a loyal FIDO customer too, since 5 years ago, but I am not anymore. I am very dissapointed because I missed ONE payment, they made a call everyday both in my cellphone and my home phone! I paid it off after one week, and they still called me to remind me of the bill that would be due in TWO WEEKS! They even insisted in asking how I would pay for that bill. They thought I was a criminal for missing the payment and they had to chase me for the next payment?! It was so annoying I just switched to Rogers (I hope it would be better). You don't have to pay the penalty if you switch to Rogers because they are basically the same company. It's better than paying the crazy penalty.

Beware!!! Fido alert! For all those who think they have Fido dollars, try redeeming them now! DO NOT redeeem them later because you will be told you no longer have your Fodo dollars!!! They do betray you, even though you have been loyal to them!! Trust your own dog more than you trust FIDO. DO NOT TRUST FIDO!

Same happened with me. I have been a Fido customer for seven years. I ordered my i-phone on Dec 15th and still waiting for it. The irony of the situation is that I ordered a third new line and signed a contract with them. The i-phone was ordered for the third line. I used my Fido dollars to pay for part of the cost. Now they have used up all my Fido dollars and I still haven't received my phone. So i cannot buy it from a store and cancel the order that I placed over the phone.

Had I decided to walk down to the store in the first place, I would have my phone with me right now.

Fully agree. Ive been with Fido since the microcell days and have had many issues over the years: constant overcharging, rude customer service reps, a lack of willingless to bend or provide any type of concession to myself etc.

In one particular example, I was overcharged nearly $300. When I called to complain, I was told that a supervisor would call me back the next day. It happened to be a religious holiday for me the next day, and I told the Fido rep that there is no way I could answer my phone. I was told that it is not up to them to bend over backwards for me. Wake-up Fido...it is a companys obligation to accomodate its customers.

The dogs are cute but not cute enough to make up for the dismal service experiences Ive encountered.

Iphone:
I am waiting on my iphone and its been 2 weeks. I pay over $100 a month for my current phone, yet wasnt able to negotiate a discount for the iphone...I paid 199+ a fee to break my contract so that I can recommit to Fido for three additional years (this fee is ridiculous in my opinion....Im paying them to be a loyal customer and tie myself up for 3 more years...eh....other companies reward me for loyalty not charge me...).

Best of luck to all of you waiting for an iphone from Fido. Patience friends....patience....

I was on the pre-authorized payment plan with Fido, when, unkown to me, they changed computer systems. I then received a rather nasty note regarding a late payment and threatening credit actions. When I called to question, I was told about the new computer sytem, no apologies though.

In addition, why does it take 30 days to disconnect?

Be weary of the Fido rewards program!! If you are told that while your account being deactivated you can redeem your rewards, don't listen, redeem them before thinking of canceling. And when they say you are disconnected because you are late in paying, and you try to hurry to pay just to get done over with them, they will right away reconnect you and wala! you will be hooked again even if you really want to get rid of them. I got rid of them because they treat you as a criminal just by missing the payment and they will not care if you are in the hospital. And by the way, I was on Ebilling but no email came to me to remind me of my due payment, so I did not catch up with my payment, but they do not want to admit that they caused me to miss the payment. I was threatened to be reported to the credit bureau two days after I paid up all my bills because their system does not update your account to reflect if you paid or not.To them, if it is not on the system you are a criminal worth the harassment and intimidation.

I too am an exiting Fido/Rogers customer. I have been with Fido for over 7 years now and also had several contracts with them so far. Most recently, I renewed my contract a few months ago not knowing that had I stayed on a monthly plan without a contract, I could have had the iphone by now. I also feel betrayed by Fido and penalized for renewing my contract. They didnt treat me as loyal as I have been to them. Let alone that their plans are a rip off compared to the states and europe. They are absolutely screwed up and have definitely lost another customer.
