Found a clip of the White Stripes doing Hotel Yorba at the Molson Amphitheatre last night on YouTube.

The chemistry between the pair irrespective of, divorce, possessiveness, etc etc is just awesome, and the version above of ‘Hotel Yorba’ was breathtaking actually — wish I could have found a complete clip…

I’ve heard a lot — both good and bad, about the new album. I personally love it and am glad the Stripes are trying hard not to get boxed into their more ‘renowned’ (read radio-friendly) sound, much as I may enjoy it. The only question that really matters is, where the hell can they go from here? Where is there to evolve? But then again, I tend to say that after every White Stripes album. Wish I could have been at the show last night.

Wow, I can’t believe you’ve heard anything bad about the new album, I LOVE it. Its a strong candidate for their best. They are so good live…

Agreed, Joe. The Stripes are unpolished blues roots rock with enough innovativeness to keep each album sounding better than the last one. So many genres one disc! And for my money maybe the best band I’ve seen live (with the exception of the Tragically Hip).
